SkiPortesduSoleil.co.uk features all the main information you need to plan a ski holiday to the Portes du Soleil; including listings of Hotels, Ski Chalets and Apartments, ski hire, ski lessons and Geneva airport transfers.
The Portes du Soleil is a major ski and leisure destination in the northern French Alps, in an area called Chablais. The Portes du Soleil is rapidly becoming respected as an “all year round” destination for sport and leisure.
The area encompasses 13 resorts between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
The Portes du Soleil boasts more than 650 km of marked pistes and around 200 lifts in total, spread over 14 beautiful valleys and about 400 square miles (1036 square km).
The Portes du Soleil is the largest “internationally linked” ski area in the world. All of the pistes are connected by lifts and the main lifts are reached by the free “navette” bus services in the area.
All of the skiing happens between 2,400m and 900m. However, don’t worry as the lower slopes of the Portes du Soleil have over 830 snow-making machines to extend the skiable season by keeping the slopes open during the early spring months.
